Thunderbird 350 Tyre Change
#1
Hi Guys,

My machine tyres got weared out and am looking for a change of Tyres. Confused choosing between custom alloy and tubless tyres or just changing the tube and tyre by keeping the same rim. Also could anyone suggest tyres with better grip. This default MRF zapper tyres are slippy during wet conditions.

If you do long rides and a bit of offroading, don't get the rims changed to allow. Stay wit the stock spoke rims. Spokes can be adjusted while doing wheel balancing but alloys if bent or cracked can't be repaired. For tyres my recommendation will be Ralco sportsper for rear and Ceat Grip XL for front.

Hi There,

MRF zapper are actually meant for city traffic roads whereas we prefer the following brand/specs for TBTS -

This is for new UCE engines - it comes with 18 inch rim
Ralco - 120/80/18"
Vrubber - 120/90/18"
Michelin Sirac - 120/80/18"

These tyres are kind of All terrain tyre and can take abuse, you can use them without tube if you have an alloy wheel but we always advice to use spokes hence you can use these tyres with tube

For old TBTS - rear tyre used to come in 19 inches

MRF Meteor - 100/90/19
MRF 3.50 / 19"
MRF 3.25 / 19"
Ralco - 110/70/19

Again the above listed ones are also all terrain tyres and can take abuse on dry/wet

Hope I was able to help you here.

Cheers
Rajiv
